Aspen 2 and Aspen 4 are virtually free from hazardous material such as benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons or olefins; substances that can cause serious health problems. Aspen alkylate petrol keeps the spark plugs and combustion chamber clean. Aspen can be preserved for a longer duration without compromising on quality which makes your engine easy to ignite even after standstill periods. There are various environmental benefits such as reducing the formation of ground-level ozone (smog) by about 40%.

Aspen 2 is a combination of alkylate petrol premixed with 2% biodegradable 2-stroke oil, applicable for clearing saws, lawn trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, mopeds, power cutters and other land-based 2-stroke engines. The oil content in Aspen 2 has been selected and developed for the future. It is absolutely synthetic with as much as 60% renewable content; it is biodegradable (more than 80% after 28 days) and free from both ash and solvents. The oil keeps the engine extremely clean and provides optimum lubrication characteristics at all engine temperatures.

Aspen 4 is alkylate petrol without any oil content in it, suitable for lawnmowers, snowblowers, rotary cultivators, boats and other 4-stroke engines. Petrol ordinarily contains ethanol which attracts moisture and can cause complete engine failures. Aspen alkylate petrol is free from ethanol making it ideal for a range of applications such as in marine environments. To utilize Aspen alkylate petrol in your 2-stroke outboard engine, just mix Aspen 4 with outboard oil. To reduce the environmental impact, choose a biodegradable oil.

Ordinary petrol is produced during crude oil refinement wherein different fractions are processed in various ways and then combined. Therefore, petrol is not homogeneous but a mixture of several substances. Ordinary petrol bought at petrol stations contains around one hundred different substances, all with different impacts on performance, health, and the environment. Many components are extremely dangerous and toxic to humans and the environment.

Alkylate is produced synthetically from the pure gases that get released when crude oil is refined. The result is very clean petrol which consists only around ten of the least harmful substances. It is therefore, virtually free from hazardous components such as benzene, aromatic hydrocarbons, sulphur and olefins.

Easy Start

If you need your chainsaw or lawnmower to start smoothly after winter or summer storage, then Aspen alkylate petrol is the right fuel to choose. Ordinary petrol loses its natural content if it is preserved in containers or petrol tanks resulting in starting troubles and operating problems. Aspen, on the other hand, retains its quality and provides hassle-free operation for many years.

Plastic Cans and the Environment

The polyethylene plastic from which the containers are moulded has been manufactured with the environment in mind, and can be recycled to generate both materials and energy. When the plastic is recycled, only carbon dioxide and water are produced.

Accessories

Aspen also carries unique filling aids for even safer and easier handling, for example, a filler spout, which restricts the flow when the tank is full, makes the funnel usage obsolete and reduces spills and fumes.

Aspen alkylate petrol is prepared and produced by Lantmännen Aspen AB, Sweden. Aspen was founded in 1988 to mainly focus on improving forestry workers’ work environment where they were spending most of the day inhaling harmful chainsaw exhaust gases. It was Roland Elmäng, a fuel expert at Volvo, who understood the advantages of using alkylate in chainsaws instead of ordinary petrol. It all began in Lerum at Lake Aspen, hence the name. Today, Lantmännen Aspen’s business is based and operated in Hindås outside Gothenburg. The organisation is a member of the Lantmännen Group, one of the largest corporate groups in the Nordic region.
